That is a great photo! :p On your photo, can you tell the actual names of the beers they are swilling?

Boyd's Map of the Pines beta available

Boyd, I have a preference for looking at Lidar the way you have it colored on Bens NJPB Maps. Reason is, when I use Lidar (and I do use it often), I really have no interest in sand or towns or clearings, or vegetation type. I'm just looking at the topography from an elevation standpoint. The...

Valued Friendship, a PBX Winter Hike

Scott and Mike, I really appreciate the good food at the tailgate. I ate a lot, I hope you didn't mind! The cookies were very good too. It's good to start getting back out there after our brief hiatus.

Barnegat man shot dead by friend in deer-hunting accident

I feel bad for everyone involved. A tragedy.

Cloverdale Farm County Park - Ocean County

If you have a license, go for it without asking. I would if I were in your shoes. Easier to ask forgiveness rather that explain to people what you want to do and thereby run into the bureaucracy wall. This is just my opinion.

Lochiel Creek County Park - Barnegat Township

Mike, if you go to that park in late April (walk along the actual stream downstream of where you were), there is swamp pink in bloom. Very pretty downstream too.

    What Am This ?

Well, it's a thought. But looking at Scott's photo, they maybe had not yet created automatics! Edit: well, maybe.

    Help for the Shore Towns?

..."But the Army Corps' mission to protect life and property must be its first priority." Whose property? And at what cost to the land and sea, and to the public's pocket? Aye, therein lies the rub. http://www.njherald.com/article/20170114/AP/301149916

    Rusty Patched Bumblebee

I wonder how closely related it was to this one Al, photographed in 2016 in Chatsworth. Unfortunately, I never got a back end shot of it.

Something odd between Aserdaten and Forked River Mountain

I've been there a couple times. It's actually a rise, with a dirt road leading up to the highest spot.

    Wells Mills Plane Crash

That does not look like our Stu. Edit: yes it does, after all. I was not used to seeing him with his glasses off and no mustache. I checked his photos against those on the post about the Warren Grove Wildfire. He was there, that was a great trip.

Pine Barrens Photograph Collection from 1915-16

Interesting. I was getting the sense from looking at these that many of those scenes were from around the Mullica River, on both sides (Atlantic and Burlington counties), and closer to the coast, just upstream from where the tides influence the rivers shown. Maybe one is the Egg Harbor river.

    Pedals the Bear

Thanks, this was the first time seen by me. The information still leaves questions in my mind. Thanks Dogg.

    Wells Mills Plane Crash

Dave, do you still have that kind of access to the historical records in APP? I'd be interested if you could look up the information of the train wreck at Chatsworth on Oct 17, 1966. It would likely be reported on Oct 18, 1966, so that would be the date to look up (or the 19th if not found on...

    Wells Mills Plane Crash

Dave, where did you hear about the Wells Mills crash? What supposedly happened? I never heard of it. I do remember about 8-10 years ago somebody crashed a few miles away, perhaps closer to route 72(?). It was a small private plane. Edit: I found something on the forum about it. Must have...

I've been working on the railroads

Thanks Johnny! Yes, that is a different wreck than the one in the photos by enormiss. But it does align with the one at Woodmansie in my post.
