    Spring Hill

Very nice Mr. Boyd. As usual of course. This is NJ! They won't believe it back in Peoria, or Lake Wobegon. There is a photo in the local newspaper of a family in the early 1900's having a picnic in the pine plains. The trees are maybe 18" tall. Fantastic!

Guy, I don't think it is where he thinks it is. If you recall, it was laying on top of the leaves haphazardly in amongst the briars. Didn't we have to pull it towards us to read it, cause it was pushed over? If I were you, I would just confirm with the local canoe livery that it is indeed the...

    A Simpson's Sky

Simpson's Sky3 is a beautiful photo. I never heard that term Simpson's sky. Do you know where it came from?

Is Cherry HIll land a paupers cemetery?

Interesting article. I like this part: Greenberg, however, wishes Gloeser would have first contacted him to try to resolve the issue before filing a lawsuit. "At least call me up and ask me to have a cup of coffee," he said. I wonder what Greenie had in mind with that meeting? I would...

    Pink is up!

Did you mean NE (New England?). If so, I second German. For the pines, Howard also has a neat little guide for novices in color; "Wildflowers of the Pine Barrens."

    Pink is up!

I was in a different spot German. Close by. I knew where Mickey was. I counted Pink in that area for the Feds last year. Have you ever been there? Nice, very nice.

    Pink is up!

As far as watermarking, yeah, I did think of it once. Then discarded it. Life is short, what the hell. I like a photo to be the photo. If I see some guy making more than $1,000 on my photo, I'll holler (a bit). I don't worry about it that much anymore. Many people take many good pictures. I...

    Pink is up!

Thanks James. That is quite a compliment. As usual, a lucky shot on my part. I am not technical.

    Pink is up!

You are correct James. The species name is "Helonias bullata".

    Campers at Columbus?

I have a question for the former campers. I found a chair in the lake. It was very unusual, stained very dark mahogany, had three legs, with a design cut out in the back. It was extremely durable and well made, the screws were covered with dowel (or they actually were dowels). I finally got rid...

A mystery photo. Shot from the other side of the fence on State Property with a telephoto. Who knows where this is? And what it is?

It's hard to believe you can find this 100 yards off of 542 next to the houses on the other side of the Wading River Bridge. This is Betty's Ladle at the start of the exploration trip:
