    Dirt bikes!

That is one of the purposes of the required off-road vehicle event permit issued by the Pinelands Commission. The permit fee collected is $5.00 per route mile and the Commissison reviews the planned course to verify that it is not passing through sensitive areas.

Can you take another picture with the bottle rotated about 180 degrees? Hmmmm. How about Stoudt's Scarlet Lady Ale?

    Tick today

My wife and I were out near Mannis Sunday and we had nine between the two of us. Six on me, three on her. One made it overnight on me and I ripped it out Monday morning. I am a tick magnet and get more ticks than anyone I know in the course of a year. I have had ticks in every month of the...

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

Everytime I go to Dick's I try to buy at least a brick of the Federal Champion Target .22's They sell out of those almost as soon as they hit the shelf.

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

What you have read is true. I shoot evey week and I am seeing ammo shortages becoming more common and the prices escalating as well. Good Ol' Barack Hussein has unknowingly done quite a lot to stimulate the economy with respect to the gun buying public. :) Here is an AP article that was...

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

Bob, if you obtained a permit to purchase a handgun it is only valid in NJ. To purchase out of state, most states that I am aware of require at a minimum, reidency in their state. Florida was notorious for weak regulations on out of state gun purchases but has supposedly made a lot of...

    Dirt bikes!

Well Robert, I would counter that you are giving examples of pepole who didn't choose to travel to and enjoy the pines for their recreational ameneties. These were people who were engaged in scratching out a tough living and when presented the opportunity for time away from the grind, they...

    Dirt bikes!

Slag heap here we come baby! Let be so bold as to opine. Every (somewhat local) human group throughout history has had something to do with the pines. For the early indian inhabitants the pines were essentially an obstacle between the various life sustaining water bodies in the pines and...

    Dirt bikes!

Amen Jeff. My friend Y-Buc Bill fom this site is a memeber of the SJ Enduro Riders. At 83 and with two knee replacements he doesn't ride anymore but he still mans a checkpoint each year. Thank God the enduros can still take place in the pines.

    Kayak recommendations?

Water? Bleccchhhh! I picked up a used Pelican canoe last year with beer holders molded in the center. My only complaint is they won't hold a beer with a huggy on it. It makes me drink faster so the beer doesn't get warm. I think I have an angle on product liability with that. :)

    Kayak recommendations?

I was in Dick's Sporting Goods in the Burlington Center yesterday and they have all of their kayaks on sale. They had a really neat 12' 6" one in olive drab with rod holders and a beer holder in the seat. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3471608 I don't know...

    Gun clubs? or shooting ranges?

I love .22's and they are still reasonably cheap to shoot. I shoot a few thousand rounds a year at my club in a fun league that shoots every Thursday night. I have a Ruger 7722 which is a tackdriver. A few of my friends are going with the Checkos CZ's. Very nice guns and reasonable. You...

    numerous foundations and basements???

Frank Rusnak and his late father George relayed the account to me a few years back. Maybe Jerseyman could jump in the mix and add any accounts of train vs people accidents in that area in the 50's.

    numerous foundations and basements???

Thanks Guy. Didn't you and I look for the grid monuments there in the middle of the road? I know I looked for them at least once without success and I thought you were there. Kayak Karl, I think you are recollecting visits to Parkdale nearby. There are fishable ponds on Clark's Branch...

    numerous foundations and basements???

I think you am mistaken. Ain't no fishable water near the foundations that we are discussing in Chewtown.
