Real ID - do you have one?

Everything is a huge hassle in NYC and NJ. The trick I used to do when living in NYC was go up to the nice motor vehicle bureau in Peekskill, north of the city, to deal with the MVB there instead of the nightmare places with a line around the block in the city. I went north of the city on my...

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

Yes, the Jersey D is my friend - but I forgot, there is one thing in the Barrens that scares me more than the bipeds that proliferate on your planet, and that is...ticks!

While We Were Sleeping, Very Bad Things Happened

I am happy that in my time haunting those wonderful woods - the late 1960's through the mid 1990's - hardly anyone even knew about them and I could drive and hike and backpack and canoe/kayak without seeing a single person all day long. I don't recall ever seeing a police officer or other...

    Mystery UFO drone crash landed???

We did? I forgot. Duh. Remember that "Watch the skies!" line? It's taking on new significance! Next they'll start landing and one will land in a ditch and this old scientist with a hair-do like Albert Einstein will say, "I'm sure they have come in peace" as he walks down to greet them while...

    Mystery UFO drone crash landed???

I have a photo somewhat similar to that, except there's a helicopter between the vehicle and the helicopter rotor. They were lowering a big SUV into some wild river in CA. As for tin foil hats, mine is on permanently if "wearing a tin foil hat" means not believing whatever they're telling us...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

Your maps are incredible and I don't even know how to use a tiny fraction of their aspects. If I still lived back east and was still exploring the Barrens I'd use them all the time and learn how to use them. They sure beat the geo.survey maps and a compass I used to use. I coated my survey...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

It was 16 Oct 2000. See the tow receipt above. It was an old sign. Maybe Exxon or Mobilgas. I don't remember, just that it was a gas station sign was visible from a long way off to the north. I'm looking at Google Earth historical images. They have 1985 and 2002. Maybe I came out (and went back...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

Oh that wldnt hv been mine. I wasn't by 72 (my usual entry point to the Pines). I vaguely remember a gas station sign sticking out that I could see from far off, maybe Esso.

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

Where do u see an abandoned gas station, that little mark in the fork between 539 and 610? Which waypoints are u referring to? I still have all my waypoints saved on Garmin Mapsource, all 7 hundred and something of them, including some in the NJPB, including the one that's the subject of this...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

Thanks, Boyd. I'll mess with it again a little later. Your maps are so awesome. I wish I had them back when I used to prowl those "wild and windswept woods". I just had geological survey maps and a compass. PS Good thing those "Flying Saucer" bad guys in Alaska didn't have maps like that!

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

Here are the two photos I have of me "borrowing" some cranberries back around 1973. What's next to me in the second photo? I don't remember. Maybe it was a "giant sack" uh oh! That was not the day the biplane strafed me. I was alone that day. Yeah, like one of the bosses once said to me on...

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

I did get off very cheap for that tow - and what he put his poor tow truck through! That's why when the boss called me I agreed to pay extra, maybe it came to 200 or maybe 250. He was very nice on the phone too, and they saved me.

"If you are really concerned, you should sit down and talk to The Jersey Devil." The Jersey Devil is my friend but we never discussed this little matter.

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

They were the best down there! Good ground clearance, good traction, and narrow so they could get through the narrow roads ( a Hummer would be almost useless wide as it is).

What's the statute of limitations on swiping cranberries in NJ?

The stuff in the can has a lot of sugar in it. Costco seasonally sells real good cranberry sauce, right now. That's all I was swiping, a handful. There's a photo of me doing it on here someplace and u can see I don't even have anything with me, let alone a giant sack. Anyway, your wife is...
