It was a full day! She wanted to see everything, and truth be told, I wanted to show her as much as possible. She's heard me talk about home so much, and I wanted her to see some of the cool stuff that I've told her about lol She grew up here in Delaware, and there's not a heck of a lot of...

    Tour of the Pines

Hey, all! I took a trip with my daughter to show her my old stomping grounds around Tabernacle, Medford, and Vincentown on Saturday. We started off with breakfast at the Red Lion Diner, then headed to the Carranza Memorial. From there, we drove to Friendship and hiked to the Alloway Memorial...

The Complete Martha Furnace Diary And Journal

Hmm, that's interesting. Buddtown is almost perfectly east from Dover Forge and a straight line would have taken the road through some tough areas. I bet that collection has mention of the route taken to Philly. What year is your map from? Adding: There is a Mule Road that goes past the...

Rcok 'Em Sock 'Em still lives on in the Pines!

I dunno. I always liked finding things like that. Someone went out into the woods with a horrific baby doll and decided to creep out future generations of hikers. You have to wonder: what did they look like, when was this put there, why, and how many bodies are buried near their evil babydoll...

Well, I think the obvious question is: who would win? Marvin the Martian vs. Blue Rock 'em Sock 'em. There can be only one!

    Samuel Richards in Delaware

Actually, looks like the property labelled Miss L.Sharp is right about where the Hale Byrnes house stands. Maybe a latter-day owner? Edit 1: Oh, duh. Yeah, Jesse Sharp was one of the owners of the properties, including the mills, before it became part of Kiamensi. So, it makes sense that the L...

    Samuel Richards in Delaware

Close to it! Hale Byrnes house is right across the White Clay Creek from Bread and Cheese island. Tmills were north of the Hale Byrnes house, upstream.
