1859 map of Florence

I had gotten this copy from the Florence Historical Society. The copy, unfortunately, doesn't show the entire town. The iron works was situated to the left of B.W. Jones property.

to the left of the jones property, would be Griffin pipe ? or close ?

Griffin Pipe is correct, although it is a little further down. There are a couple of other businesses in there as well. I may be mistaken, but I don't believe that what is Griffin Pipe today was part of the original works. I am not sure if any buildings from the original works are even standing anymore.

i have been in Griffin pipe several times to work (being punshed) the place is sort of a dump, the building i was working in had an partly open wall (missing bricks) and trees growing inside, maintance dept, LOL
some of the building were very old at least as i can tell turn of the century or maybe older
