Here are this year's Forked River Mountain Clean-up totals. Let's see, over the 23 years we have been doing this, we've pulled 658 tons of crap out of these sacred woods. That is (said another way) 1,306,000 pounds. I wish to thank all my friends who have participated: Guy and Jess, Scott and Dottie, Chris (a board member now), Ben, Jeff, Gabe, and all the others. If I missed you, I am sorry, it is unintentional.

Greatest offenders are small independent contractors, homeowners who just don't give a damn, and ATV enthusiasts from outside the area. The ATV enthusiasts come down to the woods with their loaded trailers and park in remote areas. They build a fire, and while taking a break from riding proceed to drink and then throw their cans and bottles right on the ground. Then they leave. Extremely offensive.

This year:

24 tons of debris
15 tons of concrete (recycled)
------------------------
39 tons 2016 total
------------------------
658 tons 23 year total
----------------------------

Our tireless leader, Kerry Jennings, wishes to thank all the volunteers and donors for helping to make this years clean-up another huge success!
