5th Annual New Jersey Winter Hang.
Where: Batona camp site.
When: January 27th - January 29th 2011

we had a great time hammocking last year. again we will be hiking to Apple Pie Mountain. We call it a mountain to get the out of staters to bring their climbing gear.

ALL ARE WELCOME even if you don't want to stay stop out, great bunch of people. tenters are welcome.

We went by there Friday afternoon when many were setting up. You had a mild weekend.

15 people first nite and with the nice weather 40+ on Saturday. the hike to Hampton Furnace was fun.

You're going to need crampons to get up that mountain this year, Karl. Better bring the long johns with you too. They're predicting a low of 18 on Friday night and 17 on Saturday night. Might get snow on Friday too. I hiked 12 miles out there today and whew it was cold! If I'm in the area this weekend, I'll stop by and say hello.

2376' seems kinda high, but I bet it is really windy up there

4 years ago we got 2 guys to carry climbing ropes all the way there.

There were plenty of them at Batona Camp at 11 this morning. Thinking of them as the snow falls.

Hey I think I spotted some of you there on Jan. 27. I was impressed with the amount of people at Batona Camp in the dead of winter. I was wandering through with my dog on our way to Apple Pie Hill.
