That is actually a piece of the recovered airframe, I was told.
Also, the man speaking is Venustiano Carranza, a grandson of the President of Mexico with the same name. I believe Emilio was his great uncle.

When I was there the second time in the early 2000s the people from the Mt Holly post said they had just found it in the attic. To be honest nobody I was around believed it. It looked like a go cart frame.
I attended a year ago. This year I had friends visiting and couldn't make it. It must have been tough in the heat!
One thing I will never forget about the Carranza Memorial occurred about 20 years ago when I was hiking through that area and saw what was probably more than $50 in coins just laying all over it. I assumed the money was left as part of some kind of ritual. I also assumed it wouldn’t be long before somebody else found it and scooped it all up.
