You cannot beat it. I was out last night along the Webbs Mill Branch. I didn't want to go home. I may spend a couple hours watching the sun go down tonite out at the Pygmy Pines along 72 (along one of those beautiful white sand trails). Makes for a good start to the work week and nice photos. When I was checking out that spot we should end up on 563, I heard guys laughing and shouting. I thought someone was camping. I go over there and there are about 10 guys playing basketball on the grounds. I could not resist driving in.

I have it on good authority that Verizon ran a fiber optic cable all the way down from Chatsworth to that building so that the state could have high speed access to it. Now we all know who paid for that, so you would think that the residents along that route who want to connect in would have the opportunity to do so since they helped pay for it. Well, think again! They will not allow them to use the high speed line, and all the residents on or near 563 who have the @verison.net address are using dialup.

It looks like a restaurant, that was my first thought. Maybe they should serve barbeque to hungry hikers in the summer. There's nowhere right around there to eat, they'd corner the market.
