I started off for Harrisville this morning very early, although it was raining it was worth the trip, i always had passed by the ruins on my way to my marina in Tuckerton, just stopping momentarily just to view the fenced in area, in the following pics is a more thorough investigation of the area. My first stop was at the Beaver Branch.
Then i went to Bodine's Field finding the cellar hole of the Tavern.
A look across the Wading from the swimming area.
The next two pics are of the paper mill ruins.
Another view.
A pic of the lime storage foundation.
The boarding house site.
A pic of the Mccarty mansion site.
Time to cross rt.679 to the north side of main street. A pic of the Howard Harris Mansion site.
On to the grist mill site .
Maybe the school site ?
Some old brick and stone from possibly the school site ?
The site of the Harrisville store.
The site of the Benjamin Harris Mansion.
I have tried to be as correct as possible on these locations as i followed Barbara Solem-Stoll's map from her book, if i am incorrect on any location please correct me.
This wrapped up my rainy adventure, as a side note, there are ticks at Harrisville, when are they going to go away, no bites.
