We headed out today since we both had the day off from work, and decided to roam around on the Parker Preserve and Speedwell tract borders. But first we visited Eagle and were greeted by the dogs from the house there. They were just puppies basically, and had quite a bit of energy, especially with their bark. They followed us everywhere we walked on the road barking all the time, so we decided to leave. We then headed over to the Parker Preserve and roamed around in the bogs, but our footwear was not what we needed for that area. We visited a few of the pump houses and I got bit by a lizard when I caught it. I have caught them numerous times before and they bit away and never hurt, but this one was different. It had razor teeth even though it did not break the skin.
Anyway, after finding numerous property stones and monuments we headed over to Hampton Furnace to photograph the building there. Here is another view for my “Then and Now” gallery. These photo’s taken from opposite ends show the amount of theft and destruction since 1976. Actually I believe it was 1975 but the development date on the slide said 1/76. The yellow arrow is pointing to the same location in each photo.
