On Sunday afternoon I took the dog back to the bogs off Hampton Gate Road for a little minnow drowning.
The fish weren't biting but the sky and the bogs were awe inspiring.
With the cool air and north wind, the sky was truly a Simpson's sky.
It made for some beautiful shots.

Nothin like a deep blue sky with little puffy clouds (known as stratocumulus).
Sure beats having contrails covering the sky like we had yesterday.

Near Mt. Misery
They are on Deep Run.
I can't believe I couldn't raise a pickerel on live bait in there.
I tried three different bogs without a tap.

Don't feel bad, I've come up short there also. I have also caught some there on a few occasions. I am not certain why the fishing is tough there. Some bogs that I know should be full of fish but are pretty slim pickings and others that seem identical produce tons of them. A mystery I have been working on for a while.

For me the clear, bright blue sky type days are tough fishing days, but this year for some reason all the days have been tough. But it still beats a day at work.
