does anyone know any interesting history about the town, or about the old general/ice cream store that was there. there are some old houses there (1740) and i dont know any history on them.

John Pearce mentions certain people being from West Creek, but no history of the place. Same with a couple other books I checked. Did you try the historical society?
Did you try looking at the Baymen's Museum or the Tuckerton Seaport? I grew up in Tuckerton and the folks who organized the Museum have EXTENSIVE records of the area.
