Hello All,

Does anyone know if the Air National Guard airfield on Route 72 is used by the military anymore? Today I was passing by and there was a blue four wheel drive pickup with a light bar (off road type) and white U.S. Government plate next to the dirt access road east of the fenced area and a little later I saw another one on the highway.

I haven’t been back there since 9/11. The warning signs say something about having the right to search your vehicle if I remember correctly.

Coyle Field is mainly used by the Forest Fire service now. During WW2 is was an alternate landing strip for the military when and if the airfield near Atlantic City was not appropriate.

The only planes that I think would land there now would be planes for fighting fires.
