We traveled along the Parkway yesterday looking for a stone we never found but we did find a few old state monuments. It was interesting to see that when building the Parkway they ran multiple trenches onto this property and even put pipes under the sand road in many places to try and get the water away from the area.
Jessica crossing one of them. Most were smaller than this one.
Monument 110
While walking the state line on a semi recent plow cut I noticed there must have been some sort of building on the private property next to the state land we were on. I looked over Historic Aerials and could not see anything.
A nice spung near the parkway which was fully filled with water. It appears to be a deep one.
