Here I am at Hermit Lake Shelter in August 1979.
Imagine seeking shelter in that open faced lean-to in -20 air with 130 mph wind gusts.
Ouch.
Last time I saw socks like that, they were on Julius Erving
Scout stuff is highly collectible; you are sitting on an early retirement gold mine
I kept the Cub & Boy Scout uniforms of my sons, along with the merit badges, Scout books etc. Told them it was a small price to pay for my weeks as troop scoutmaster at Brookville. Oh the agony!
Just looked at ebay and I see my exact backpack.
That, the mess kit and canteen all together don't look like they are worth more than $60 +/-.

I have a Segen backpack I bought from an itinerant salesman going through Browns Mills in in 1978(?). They are highly coveted by some. I know I'll get back more than I paid for it.
