Anybody know what made these footprints?

I live right on the bay and I do know we have foxes in the area, but I’m not sure what made these prints in the snow. It looks like it was dragging a tail.

I think it is a cat dragging it's prey.

If you google 'Aminal tracks in the snow with tail drag', you will find some good possibilities. I say it could be a muskrat or opossum.

We do have otters in the bay.

We do have otters in the bay.

They love to walk the docks at night. I keep a boat in Cape May Harbor and a lot of guys have floating bait pens at their slip for holding spot or peanut bunker. The otters love to try and get into the pens and they are occasionally successful.
