I used to live about 5 1/2 miles from there, I drove past it a lot, but never explored it much. It has a lot of nice hardwood trees. It doesn't have a lot of facilities, (small parking lot, no buildings that I can remember), it's been left natural.
Curiosity got the best of me and I headed out to Pigeon Swamp Saturday morning...I found no sign anouncing the property is Pigeon Swamp only the typical State Forest Sign.The property is split down the middle by Dean-Rhode Hall. I would say that this section had maybe 2 to 3 miles of actual trail, and many deer stands in the trees.
