Bass River -- 1st Day Hike

I hiked thru that section of the Batona Trail on Jan. 1 and didn't see them. Somebody wrote in the trail register that's in the box hanging on the tree in the left hand side of that picture that it took them two hours and forty-five minutes to hike the three miles to get there. I remember thinking, "Holy crap, there's a turtle out here that can climb trees and write."
