I am in the process of putting together a 'day hike' for the entire 49.5 miles of the Batona Trail. We will be doing this, one of the first few Saturdays after March 8, 2009, when the clocks roll back. Our small group is comprised of marathon runners and experienced endurance trail hikers. We are planning a 4 m.p.h. pace. I will be conducting a 22 - 24 mile test hike on the Batona, at pace this Friday, Feb 13. I'm looking for any advice or experiences that would help us in our planning.

That has already been done. When you are finished compare your times to a friend of ours. He did the entire trial in one day.
