Spring is here and the birds are out singing. What kind of species of bird is this?

I also recorded some clips of the bird singing.
 
That is beuatiful! It is "carpintero olividorado". Men in areas near me would stun those with fireworks , this made me very angry :jeffd:
 
Fortunately there are now laws that include jail time for people that torture wildlife. If I saw that I wouldn't hesitate to call the police.
 
I agree. The police didn't care, but the rest of us made them stop. Who can hurt an animal? I can't believe it.
 
That is a Northern mockingbird, Mimus polyglottos. They are the opera singers of the avian world. They can sing a gorgeous song like a warbler or an irritating racket like a blue jay.
