I pulled about 20 off my pants after a short run in the woods across from Bamber Firehouse. I took one home and looked at it under the stereo microscope I got for Christmas. The probe they stick in us looks painful just looking at it. It is not sharp like a needle, looks more bulbous on the end with small raised ridges that appear to be made to gouge and tear your cells.........
Their body is very chitinous. I peirced it with a small blunt nail in several areas. Even though its body fluids were oozing out, he just kept coming, trying to get out of the petri dish I had him in.
I then covered him with an alcohol and soapy mixture. He still squirmed around for 5 minutes before finally succumbing to the lack of oxygen.
They are truly disgusting, resilent, dangerous creatures.
