A brush fire that broke out on an island in the Mullica River has already burnt five acres of land and is still spreading, officials say.
According to firefighters on scene, the fire broke out around noon Friday. The exact cause is not yet known but officials say that the risk for forest/brush fires was high Friday.
The island is not accessible by truck so planes have been called in to dump water over the fire.
