Medford police have apprehended three people suspected of burglarizing more than 40 homes in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.
Robert Anderscavage, 36, of Gloucester City, James Valentino, 56, of Haddon Township, and Leeanne Bennett, 37, of Gloucester City, were arrested Friday afternoon following a burglary at a home on Tuckerton Road in Medford, police said.
Investigators said a resident arrived back at his home at 1:17 p.m. and saw a gold Cadillac parked in the driveway with one occupant in the car. As the resident approached, two men fled from behind the home and entered the car, which then sped away, police said.
The resident immediately called 911 and provided a police dispatchers with a description of the vehicle, which was then relayed to responding officers. Officers later spotted the vehicle and stopped it at an undisclosed location, police said. The three suspects were taken into custody and various items removed from the Tuckerton Road home were recovered from the vehicle, police said.
Additional property stolen from various homes in the tri-county region later was found in the suspects’ homes and at a pawn shop in Runnemede, police said.
Anderscavage, Valentino and Bennett were charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief in connection with Medford burglaries, police said.
Investigators said the suspects also have been implicated in a total of 42 burglaries in Medford, Southampton, Mount Laurel, Shamong, Tabernacle, Lumberton and other towns in South Jersey.
They remain lodged in Burlington County jails on $100,000 bail.
