Camping with Dogs

Is there any place in the Pine Barrens that I can bring my labs camping? Ive checked with the state office, and it seems to be hopeless for my pups.

They love the pines!

You can't take dogs camping in state forests? That seems odd. You are allowed to walk them there, as well as use them for hunting on those tracts. Wait a minute, what was I thinking? I work for government. Why did I think their rules on dogs would make any more sense than their other rules.

My wife will only go camping with me if we're allowed to bring our labs. I really like the area at godfrey's bridge, but it clearly states on those little permits that pets are not allowed.

Bob - I was hoping you would find more camping places that you can take your dogs to. I had checked your camping site here and they are all still State. My brother-in-law wants to do some camping with us and group and he doesn't go anywhere without his Papillon. I am also thinking about getting another dog. See what we can line up. Thanks

Check with Wading Pines Campground, which is in Jenkins. They might allow pets. It's right next to one of the State camping areas (I forget which) which is at the northern terminus of the Washington Turnpike. Check my homepage for the link to their site online:
