I haven't been down there lately, but now that you mention it, what is the attraction of shooting a large, static object? Every time I go down there it's all shot up and I can't understand it. Aren't they supposed to be shooting each other with those things?

The last time I was down there, it was like 11:00 at night with a full moon and about 25 people came out of the campground across the street with flashlights and things and some guy was giving a tour. Scared the hell out of me. I thought they were the fabled devil worshippers coming to pray at the local obelisk. Not something you see every day.

Stopped by the Carranza Memorial on Sat evening 12/29.The full moon provided plenty of light to see that the paint had washed off.Someone had placed flowers and a photograph of a child at the base.It was a great night for a moonlit cruise to the pines.

The memorial service is the second Saturday of July. Do they have any other this time of year?
