Got my first cataract removed yesterday. The rest of the day I was moping around because if felt like a cat scratched my eye. Anyone else go through this?
Had both eyes done several years ago. Keep the eye patch in place, follow doctor's orders and you'll be fine.
One item to note is that my eyes seem to dry out quicker now. I keep a Costco sized box of Refresh eye drops handy.

Most times I can go a full day or three before repeating. Sometimes I need a followup six hours later at lunchtime.
Sidebar. If your doctor hasn't mentioned age-related macular degeneration yet, you're lucky. They say the best way to slow that down is AREDS2 supplements.

Yes, luckily she told me I had no other eye issues. This morning, my kitchen was bright and light colored out of the surgery eye, and dingy yellow out of the one I did not yet have the cataract removed from.
