Worth a visit. Sure doesn't look anything like when I visited when the owner was still living there.

Looks quite a bit different than when Ben and I were given a tour by Rudy. I will go one day with my photos in hand and get a Then & Now.

I may have been misunderstood. I was asking 46er how long ago someone lived there. I'm looking forward to your before and after photo's.

The previous owner Rudolph(Rudy) Koenig sold the property to Ocean County at a ceremony on 12/27/2007, the 225th anniversary of the skirmish. Rudy was quite the character and had a very eventful life. The transfer of ownership allowed Rudy to remain living in the tavern until a greater power called him. That occurred on 1/12/2012, at age 86. More info about Rudy and the tavern is available online at the Cultural and Heritage Commissions web site.
