Hello all, I've just come across this forum, and am very excited to have found it. I love exploring the Pine Barrens.
A few years back, I read "The Pine Barrens" by John McPhee, and recall reading about a bridge in a cedar water river built on top of an old shipwreck, or something along those lines. I don't have the book handy, so I am unable to look up a more detailed account of it. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, if the bridge still exists, and if so, where to find it? Thanks!

That's probably what I'm thinking of. I guess I am just making things up since it's been a while since I read the book. I knew it was something built on top of or out of a boat. Do you happen to know where it is?

"There is a dam at Penny Pot, on the Great Egg Harbor River, that was made from salvaged ship timbers. It was built to be nothing more than a cranberry dam, but it has in it seventy-five thousand dollars' worth of teak."
