I know pretty much every cedar swamp in the pines has been clear-cut atleast once since the 1600.

Can anybody direct me to anything close to an old growth cedar swamp?

Brandon, Bob and I can show you one that I believe is quite old. Even if it isn't real old it is certainly very nice. It has some buzztails in it too.

Yes, I remember you mentioned something of that sort to me before.... just can't quite remember where you said it was... in Penn State perhaps? Sheesh... should of just asked you first before starting a thread....

Bear Swamp in southern Cumberland county is known to have some old-growth trees, with some over 500 years old. It isn't within the Pinelands boundaries, though it's close. And might be interesting to you...

I've read there are a few stands of old growth in remote sections of the Great Cedar swamp in Cape May county as well. Most of the area has been clear-cut twice since the colonial shipbuilding days making the truly old stands rare to non-existent.
