Got one in the mail today for something called the American Community Survey. It looks like a 'I'm from the government and want to help' type of survey.

Got one in the mail today for something called the American Community Survey. It looks like a 'I'm from the government and want to help' type of survey.
What does the tiny faint grey "fine print" say?
I checked and it is indeed administered by the US Census Bureau, and federal law requires that targeted households respond.
Have not seen the actual survey yet, it is only available online now, print will be mailed. It says we are required to respond, but does not indicate that we have to be truthful.

"If your address was selected for the American Community Survey, you are legally obligated to answer all the questions, as accurately as you can. The relevant laws are Title 18 U.S.C Section 3571 and Section 3559, which amends Title 13 U.S.C. Section 221."
