Chatsworth, the unofficial capital of the Pine Barrens, has been named one of the best small towns in the nation by Adventure, a magazine published by the National Geographic Society.

The best route to get to the Burlington County village, according to the outdoors-oriented magazine, is the Batona Trail, the longest of the hiking paths in the Pinelands.

The article outlining the "50 best places to live and play" appears in the September issue of the magazine.

In addition to top small towns, the magazine picked top mountain towns, wilderness towns, waterfront towns and cities.

While flattering, it is publicity like that, that causes the real estate in Chatsworth to sky rocket, and encourages population increase. These magazines should title their articles; 'best small towns in America...until everybody reads this and moves there'
