the wife and i just came back form the fair and was surprised how many people were there, including one beaver

we were walking past the fenced in pond along side of the mill and spotted a furry creacher on the bank. the color was not right for a ground hog neither was the tail about 5 inches long and over 2 inches wide and almost black and flat

he must have been a young one judging by his overall size and not being too much afraid of people

a bit later we went to the nature center and over heard a phone conversation and "somebody" confirmed that it was a ground hog, LOL, LOL

my wife and i just smiled, gee i should have brought my camera

We stopped at the Country Living Fair and the Cranberry Festival at Chatsworth. I was amazed with how busy both festivals were.

I was disappointed with how commercial everything was - very little emphasis on the Pine Barrens at Batsto. The Outdoor Club of South Jersey had a small little booth. At Chatsworth there was a PPA booth and a copy of the new Ghost Towns book. I leafed through it quickly - didn't look all THAT hot.

I wanted to find some fresh, pure cranberry juice at Chatsworth, but the closes thing I managed to find was Cranberry Wine. :( Again, very little emphasis on Cranberry's and more funnel cakes, zepoles, pizza, and cheap flea market type stuff. Some of the craft stuff was really nice, though.

How Commercial

It's easy to be disappointed.... There's more & more junk @ these things
anymore. I love the old technology & especially the J.D. stuff !!
But they let in too much cheesy stuff anymore.
Batsto itself has, even after dozens of visits...never bored me or
let me down. I can always count on an enjoyable visit even when the
events are a let down.
this weekend however I chose to go out & see what changes the last
week's weather invoked in my stomping grounds.

Stopped by after a day out and about near Lake Oswego. Gotta say I was pretty dissappointed by the whole presentation, or lack thereof. Lots o' junk without any real focus on "country living." Not to say there weren't any neat things to appreciate, some really nice pieces of sewing were presented, but overall it looked like the outside section of the Berlin Mart. Batsto proper should have used some staff to organize the event and not just leave it as an open air flea market, or otherwise not advertise it as it did.
