During the Forked River Mountain Cleanup today we uncovered 2 pine snakes, hiding out under shingles. Also found this guy. I thought it was a Norther Fence Lizard, but the head is not right. Do you herp guys know why it looks different? Is is something else?

Not sure about the head, was it damaged? It is a fence lizard however.

I was not at that spot. They did not say it was damaged. Does not look like the lizards I know and love, but the legs are too long for a salamander aren't they?

Its a fence swift, just a little plain looking, could be sickly. Any pics of the snakes?

It does look like a fence swift, as pointed out, if he is a bit sickly, the head may look larger relative to the body. IT is definitly not a salamander Bob.

Cool Pine snake. I was out around the chatsworth area a week or so ago with no luck.
