Photos are from 5 visits over the course of a week. It is close to me, I do not know why I have not been there more often.

I kayaked all 4 bogs back in 2002. Very nice scenery but it was difficult to cross from one to another. Also nice to hike around but with the motor vehicle restrictions the trails and roads are getting grown over. Hunter and trappers used to keep them open, the same as Friendship and sandy Ridge Bogs.

The dike between bog 2 and 3 is about to collapse and it is a tightrope walk to avoid falling into the water. The road to the upper two bogs is very wet and beginning to fill in. The road to the top of the fourth (or fifth) bog already looks completely overgrown. If I recall correctly I think Guy posted about hiking up there a while back.

Interesting how closing the roads may ultimately make the bogs inaccessible. I also did not see any damage caused by ATV's or "Land conquering machines" to use a prominent PPA advocate's term. I did see some tire tracks on the closed bog road, and an ATV on Hampton road.
