I don't believe that at all. The deer was obviously frightened and ran back across the road just as the driver opened the door. It was just happenstance.
I hit a deer a couple years ago.Knocked it simple.I got out of the car as it was regaining it's feet.It walked up to me and sniffed me.It was a doe.It then walked over into the field and stood there and looked at me for twenty minutes while the cop arrived to make note of the occasion for my insurance company.
