detour on 542

looking to kayak the mullica river in the next week or so. Normally go from atsion to batsto village. Last time out there was a detour on route 542 for a bridge being out. Anyone know if its been fixed. Also hows the water level looking with all the rain we got recently is it still really low? Any info is appreciated.

That bridge has been fixed and is open.

Not only has the bridge been fixed, the stretch of road that would shake your tooth fillings loose has been re-paved as well.

Just spent all day Sunday on the Batsto. The water was down somewhat less than a foot. I think they lowered it in anticipation of heavy storms. The Batsto usually runs high, so it wasn't a problem. Route 542 is better than I ever remember it.
