Boyd, I don't think you'll have an easy answer to this. Don't dig real deep. The lot selected shows up on your tax map, but not the state tax map below it. Maybe they consolidated it into the state or federal land in the area. This is south of the junction of Bucks Ave and Goshen Road.

Can't say much without a link to the actual place. Sorry, I don't recognize it offhand. I used 2020 data, so maybe that's the difference? What data does it show in pinesXT? All I can say is that, if it's on the map then it was part of the NJGIN shapefile that I downloaded. Post a link and I can tell you more.

I don't think it's unusual for lots to be combined... is it? Happened to my own property before I bought it. On the old tax maps, it shows as two 5-acre parcels but they were joined into a single new parcel later. As I understand, this was because a law was passed saying 10 acres was the minimum buildable lot size if it included designated wetlands (or something like that).

It's not that important Boyd. I'm sure the state just bought it. This is the state map now. They are usually correct with the green shadings.

I found a state listed plant there, but then realized it's been delisted anyway, so no need to report it.

OK, I see it now... was thinking in terms of goshen pond and not the town of Goshen before. :) Yeah, looks like they just combined two parcels into one. It says Nature Conservancy in my data from the NJDEP, but there is no listing for Goshen Ponds Preserve on their website. Is this one of those properties which they later deeded to the State? That might have happened after 2020 when I downloaded parcel data. There may be more info buried in some large databases that I have, but I have too many other balls in the air now.

Looking a little closer, there were actually three lots combined, my version shows block 52 lots 8, 9 and 10. Your map shows them all combined into block 52 lot 8. Interestingly, lot 8 is just a little 1/4 acre parcel. I guess they chose the lowest lot number for the combination. If you look at the parcel data for that lot, it shows 30.78 acres under the Land Description, which is about the size of the whole preserve.

Lot 16 is also listed as an Additional Lot in the Block 52 Lot 9 data, but I don't see where that is
