I am pleased to say that today on my family canoe outing there was not a ton of litter.
We did of course spy the elusive Mylar Balloon of course hung up in some weeds. I honestly think those things procreate somehow out in the Pines!
We as always had the kids fill a plastic bag along our journey and on the way out. I try always to make sure they have that dynamic in them. This next is a riot. As I loaded the canoe on the S-10, I saw a couple Coke cans sitting nicely up on the landing. Now, any of you with kids or grandkids in school know the collecting of tabs for recycle is a big deal. In Waterford schools they collects massive amounts and prizes are awarded to classes for most collected and such. Soda, Beer, Dog food, Soups, whatever. Seems of the whole of any can there is more recycle value in that little tab than all the rest.
Now, these Coke cans were stripped of their tabs, no doubt in my mind for some parent saved it for their kid, but the cans were left. So, the people save tabs so their kid's class can get a pizza day and leave the can behind.
