I am sorry i did not have the chance to complete my trip report from earlier in the week from my outing last Sunday, i had an emergency over my other daughter's house.
This second part of the outing will start on Dover Road, parking at this spot off the road.
I did not find the site of Dover Forge but took the following photos of the Cedar Creek at the bogs.
Second pic of the Cedar.
A third pic.
A final pic of the Cedar, there were two kayaks and a canoe ready to enter the water, i did not photograph the scene, if i was capable i would really like to have a paddle here, it is pristine.
On the way back to the car, i took the following pic of where the pickers use to live, here is the first.
A second pic.
A third and final pic, notice the yucca plants. I have never been in this area before, and i would like to thank Bobpbx on what to look for.
Leaving the area, me and my friend George decided to go to the Ten Mile Hollow area, taking the three following pics of the cellar holes we found. The pigs who did this ought to be ashamed of themselves.
A second cellar hole.
A third and final cellar hole.
The fence at Miller Air Park.
The buildings at the airport.
Deciding to leave the area and on the way back to my friend's house in Tabernacle, we decided to stop at the site of Boyd's Hotel, taking this first pic. We took the way in from route 539.
A pic of the pilings of the old bridge that use to take traveler's from Boyd's Hotel then next to Hanover Furnace.
Deciding to call it a day, we took the road that goes out to Rt.70, both the way in to Boyd's and out were dry and carable.
Arriving at our friend's house, i recalled that there was a cleanup going on in Wharton, and that there would be people from this site congregating at the pic, i left my two friend's to their budweisers to go to the pic to see George, Bobpbx, and Scott, first time i ever met Scott, i tip my hat to him, he is the ultimate sportsman, it was the ending of another perfect day in the pines.
