East Stokes Road Beach

We visited the beach along the Batsto River off of Stokes road near Quaker Bridge this morning, where vehicles were driving and causing errosion. The state has closed the beach off to vehicle traffic and the work appears to have occurred very recently.

I'm not onboard with throwing logs down in there like that. For cripes sake, build it up with sand.

They hammered pieces of wood into the sand to try and stop the flow of sand into the river. But it needs more work for sure.

I was down there not to long ago and those weren’t there. Do you know if they did the rest of the beaches down the Batsto?

It looks to me they were put up this week. Or at least one portion of it. But I really don't know. And I don't know about other beaches.

I visited First Beach to see the erosion, and it's all blocked off.

I was curious so we took a small ride today. It looks like that was the only beach that was blocked so far. At one of the others there was tire tracks going all the way down to the water. They should all be blocked off. But with enough room for some parking.
