For the newer members here again is the "Pine Barrens" by John McPhee with the photo's.

And this is the 1974 National Geographic Magazine article on the Pine Barrens that is a must read/have. You may remember in the recent Courier Post article Bill Wasiowich had the article at his home.

The "Buy it Now" price is $2.00 so you must buy it if you want to have a small piece of history. The shipping is $4.02. That is about what I paid for mine so you are not getting ripped off if it is good shape.

That particular auction ended, but I found another Buy it Now for $2. Shipping was $3.59.

For over 6 months my "Favorite Searches" on eBay were not being emailed to me. I wrote them numerous times and I received a letter on one occasion from the person basically saying his did not work either. It was an odd letter and annoying also. So obviously I have not been receiving them, with an occasional token one once in a while.

Today I received about 30 of them all at once, and as you just noticed they had already ended. I hadn't noticed that so I am sorry for the error. Maybe the next ones I receive will be more up to date. Just Maybe!

Can you tell me how you are able to get alerts on certain search items? I've looked how to do it many times and have not been successful.

Mine is set up so I have to assume what I am telling you is correct since I can't walk through it again.

Go to "My eBay" and then on the left side click on the "All Favorites" or maybe the "Searches" right below that.

Now since apparently you do not have any searches set up you click on the link that says "Add new Search". Fill in the info making sure you check the "Search Title and Description" check box. That will give you a better chance to find what you want. Make sure you just do the basics and don't get fancy with you choices here.

Again, I am not sure if it works this way since mine is set up.... after you save the search and it shows up in the list, click on the "Edit Preferences" on the far right of the search. Then change the settings to "12 months" if it is not already set to that, and set it to daily email....if you want that. I find that is the best way.

Now remember I posted that it was not working for about 6 months and just started working again, so I am not sure how well this will work for you. However, I just checked and I have 9 more emails today so it must be fixed.

Tell me if I am correct with this when you try it. Hopefully this is what you wanted.

Isn't there a time expiration on the number of days for your favorite searches? Also, hate the thought of bidding against you all!
k

You can set it for up to 12 months. Every year you have to go back it and change it back to 12 months.

Hey thanks a lot Tee Gate for taking the time to explain this. I found the option to save searches before but never noticed the email alert thing. Whether it works or not, I'm just glad I finally know how you guys were doing this. Thanks again!
