I was down in the Edgewood (Deer Park) woods today, and the damage from the fire that happened a couple weeks ago was pretty bad. The aireal photos the news shows cannot even begin to show how the fire has changed the landscape in the park.
I will post some "then and now" photos to show how the fires, which consumed about 90 acres on the southeast portion of the preserve, have changed the woods.

Some more photos of the aftermath. Hopefully in a couple of months the ground will be filled with new seedlings, as the cycle of fire and birth in the pine barrens continues.
