All,

Bob, Jess, and I met this morning at the Bordentown Gun Club on 532 to do some exploring in Wharton. Within a minute of arriving a female Park Police Officer stopped and asked us "if we knew what we were doing," and after advising her we did she headed off up the road ahead. We hopped in Bob's truck and at 9AM we were on the go.

Our first stop was this dried up area. Wharton is so different from where we were last weekend. That area was full of water, and Wharton is dry.

As nice as it looked, someone has driven in it.

Then to the Batsto River Bridge for lunch. It is falling apart.

And here is a photo I took and was developed on 5/1978 from the same location. Quite a change in 32 years!

And after 7 hours of exploring we were heading back to my car when Bob saw this. It has been there apparently for years and was falling apart. We were half expecting to find someone in it.

Great photos from a beautiful day! Looking at that savannah, I have to wonder whether you had any problems with chiggers? They are terrible at my place this year. Cutting firewood in the woods over the past few days, they have hit me hard in spite of freshly permethrin-treated clothes and shoes!

Jessica had them all over her. She was picking them off her arms with tweezers on our ride home. She only wore sneakers and not knee highs as Bob and I did, and during the day she noticed them all over her legs. She claims they never bother her and it appears she is correct, because this morning there is no sign of problems. She does have one problem which is her ear. Riding with Bob is like being on a bucking bronco, and with her and I sharing a seat she bounced pretty hard a few times and her ear slammed into my shoulder. This photo is from this morning which looks way better than it did yesterday.

In any event, no matter how much it hurt we would not have it any other way.

Those medders are absolutely beautiful and it is amazing that you have all those old photos still handy and whats more remember taking them so you can reference back to them and provide before and now shots.I compare bfore and nopw shots of myself sometimes and I quickly shelve the now shots:)
That tent Bob found looks like a hunters blind to me.I've found a couple of those myself. They seem to be fond of abandoning them, must not be that expensive.kind of odd to place it in the open though. Most times their placed near an open area in thick brush.
