just got a new load of rat pups for all my snakes! there is 25 pups in each package....i feed these to all my snakes (none wild). last week my stupid cat brought home a live small racer and i got her to one before i let it loose. I am going on a three day camping trip this weekend with a friend to look for a pine barrens tree frog and hopefully a couple snakes.

I didn't know snakes ate dead meat. What is the red color, tomato sauce? Blood? Are they frozen or just preserved somehow?
Yea they are all frozen..my cornsnakes just eat them as soon as you drop it...but for others like pythons and boas you have to move it around at the top of the cage and they will strike...just hope they dont miss 
. The red stuff is blood, sometimes if they are put into warm conditions and then re-frozen...their heads kind of....explode. To thaw them out you just put them into really hot water
