Very pretty photo. reminds me of the steamy south. I had two of those in my backyard and I hated them. They dropped those flowers continually. But the smell was heavenly.

I can’t help but have negative feelings towards mimosa. It just conjures up images of urban waste places and of Ailanthus. When I see it in a wild area I want to reach for an axe!

I can't say that I feel the same way, although I have whacked down an ailanthus or two in my lifetime (grew right back, of course). I appreciate the empty lot comparison with "tree of heaven", but I never saw a mimosa as anything but a lovely, delicately-shaped tree that also happened to be easy for a girl to climb.
