Does anyone know if there is a fire in the pines? I saw some fire trucks heading west of jenkins today when I was on 563....a helicopter was flying over too with water....just wondering.

Wharton State Forest, border of Tabernacle & Shamong. Contained at 9 acres. Area of Carranza Rd & Tuckerton Rd. (2) helos were working. Reported at about 1:45 pm today.
Its reported that this fire was in a bad piece of woods and it had room to run. The NJFFS crews of B1, B2 & B3 did a great job stopping this.

Another fire today 10/17/08 in Pemberton Twp just south of Country Lake Estates near the railroad bed. Last I heard was 5-10 acres. No rain in the forecast till maybe middle of next week.
Windy conditions predicted for today with low humidities. And its dry out. The NJFFS has started 2 man patrols today.
