Firefox vs Google Chrome

About the only time I ever see a popup is in those articles that some of you link to on local newspaper sites. One of them also always gives me an alert box that says "iFrame loaded". 46er posted a link to a site about the Garden State Parkway just now, and it gave me two popups.

I don't have popup blocking enabled in Firefox. Have not tried for awhile, but in the past when I enabled popup blocking it created problems with legitimate functions on ome sites that I need to use, like GIS downloads, finance and Fedex.

I have decided to download both and if i don't like either one I will uninstall.I have gotten pissed at chrome in the past because they are always sneaking it into downloads as an extra.I didn't even know what it was,i thought it was a toolbar like google toolbar which also is snuk in a lot.I have since learned to uncheck the little boxes that tell you they are including it.It pisses me off when they even try to sneak things I didn't ask for in.It's like the fortune teller in front of Pathmark a few years ago that asked my wife if she wanted her palm read?My wife told her if she was psychic like her sign claimed she would have known she wasn't interested before asking to which the woman had not a reply,I love Momma

Like I said, I've been using IE8 for quite sometime and can't remember the last time I've gotten a pop-up, unless specifically configuring a site to allow them. I can't comment on Chrome or FF, since I've been exclusively using IE for many years.

Interesting. As I said I use IE8 and do not get any pop-ups from that site, or any other. I do have pop-up blocking enabled and set to 'medium'. I cannot recall getting any pop-ups. No issues at all with IE8 and have not had to use the 'Compatability View' function.
