Heard they're getting plenty of stripers from Manasquan to LBI this week and I know theres a few of you on the site who always seem interested this time of year. Between the rain and wind I havent been out for a a little bit. Get out and fish the bay and ocean if you have the oppurtunity when things clear up. Blues are everywhere too. Here's some fish porn of some early stripers I got last week. I've seen guys taking in bigger ones too. I let most fish I catch go, but haven't had striper for a while so a few made a good meal with a steak and cold beer.

Nice!

Just about past the spring rush at work. Time to hit the surf!

It should be real good after this weather blows out.

Congrats man, they are beautiful. It has been a good spring for the striped ones.
I just splashed the boat last Friday and a guy in my marina came in with 5, 3 were over 40". He does six packs and he knows how to find the fish.
Chunkin' fresh bunker in the flats east of Bug Light in D Bay.
I may be out there this Saturday or I may be chasing drum.

Well enjoy if you get out there. Friday looks nice if the wind stays calm. The fish are pretty spread out now, where as we has to head a little north last week.

drum tatse like crap bottom feeders very slow they wet vac the bottom

Only if you don't know how to cook them. As is the case with a lot of things that peole say "taste like crap"
Crabs are bottom feeders that eat dead stuff and they are pretty damn good.
Snow geese are good too, if you know what you are doing.

I treat drum like veal cutlet. First lightly bread and sautee the fillets in some olive oil. Then bake them briefly in homemade tomato gravy with shredded sharp provolone over the top.
You'd swear you are eating the best veal parm you ever had.

Here was one I caught in my boat two seasons ago. We ate good for 2 months.

True enough; add catfish, cod, lobster, clams, mussels, oysters etc.

I'll have to try to get out and take adavantage. Many stripers around the mullica?

BTW: nice drum Scott. I never ate one but I am confidant that if you prepared it, I would like it.

It has been years since I caught a drum. I like how they taste if prepared properly. I am not much of a cook so I don't know what is the best way to cook them. On Wed, 5/26, Ed Campbell and I are going after Stripers out of Barnegat. Hopefully we will be sucessful.
